Coaching Skills

An essential skill for every employee

In today's fast-paced workplace, coaching has become an essential leadership skill. The 2025 World Economic Forum Report on the Future of Jobs continues to highlight the value and importance of on-the-job learning, of which informal coaching can play a key role.

When leaders, managers, and subject matter experts adopt a coaching approach, they empower others to reflect and think critically, which in turn boosts confidence, autonomy, and engagement. In addition to benefiting their colleagues, those who practice coaching also develop greater self-awareness, situational awareness, listening skills, and empathy.

Ultimately, a coaching approach has the potential to increase pyschologcial safety, a sense of belonging and the fostering of dignity and respect. All of which can bring real benefits to the bottom line of any organisation through increased engagement, productivity, and retention.

The Gallup State of the Global Workplace Report (2025) found that manager performance can be increased by 20 - 28% through the teaching of effective coaching techniques and a 2016 study by Bersin & Associates demonstrates that equipping your managers with Coaching skills can yield a 130% increase in business performance.
